A group of local Kansas City businesses and institutions received a federal grant of $2 million, just three weeks after the city earned the title of U.S. Tech Hub. The Build to Scale grant was generously matched by an award from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

The grant was awarded to the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) along with BioNexus KC, KC Digital Drive and Pipeline Entrepreneurs to advance Digital Health KC. The investment will help improve digital health in Kansas City by supporting 20 new startups, 15 beta customer projects, $45 million in debt and equity investments, and 500 new jobs for the region.

Congratulations to a few of our very own sharks, including Maria Flynn, advisory board chair of Digital Health KC, Dick Flannigan, CEO of Digital Health KC, and Dennis Ridenour, president and CEO of BioNexus KC. Thank you for your continued support of entrepreneurs in Kansas City.
