Ulom App, a Kansas City-based startup led by entrepreneur Zik Nwanganga, has been selected to join the latest cohort of Digital Sandbox KC, a program that provides early-stage funding and strategic support to high-potential startups in the region.

Founded with a mission to make transitions smoother for refugees, international students and new migrants, Ulom App connects newcomers with essential local resources and builds community in a new country. Nwanganga, who also co-founded FiredUp Studios, sees this as a personal and necessary mission.

“The Digital Sandbox KC grant will fund the creation of our app,” said Nwanganga. “Launching our app will enable us to onboard users and test if there is a need for our solution in the market.”

By bridging the information gap and reducing the isolation that many newcomers feel, Ulom App hopes to become a go-to guide for building a new life in a new place. Nwanganga is preparing to take this mission from concept to community impact with the help of Sandbox’s support and resources.
