A rising Kansas City startup is gaining national attention. Pure Pitch Rally 2022 alum AskSAMIE has been selected for the Techstars Workforce Development Accelerator, securing a $220,000 investment and access to a global network of mentors, operators and founders.

AskSAMIE is a healthtech startup connecting people with occupational therapists and solutions for safer, more independent living at home. What began as a tool for older adults has evolved into a growing ecosystem serving patients, families and providers, with more than 500 occupational therapists already on the platform.

AskSAMIE’s selection highlights the strength of the Kansas City startup ecosystem and its ability to produce scalable, impact-driven companies. The platform is expanding access to care while simultaneously addressing critical workforce gaps by helping occupational therapists launch and grow their independent practices. With new funding, AskSAMIE is accelerating product development and rolling out new tools designed to increase adoption among clinicians and partners nationwide.

But the $220K investment is just the beginning. Throughout the course of the three-month accelerator, Techstars provides founders with hands-on guidance from experienced mentors and access to their global network of investors, partners and alumni. Built with longevity in mind, access to this community is key in helping entrepreneurs continue to adapt and scale beyond the accelerator itself.

Techstars’ continued support and elevation of founders has helped shape entrepreneurial ecosystems across the country, including playing an early role in influencing the vision behind Pure Pitch Rally as a platform to connect and champion Kansas City startups.

As AskSAMIE continues to expand beyond Kansas City, it stands as a powerful example of how local innovation, backed by the right networks, can make an impact on national levels.
